• When and if conditions permit, move to a shoulder or other "SAFE AREA" to prevent further damage

• Gather complete information from those involved including vehicle information with license plate number, driver information and insurance information for all vehicles involved.
• Try to complete a report on the scene and draw a diagram showing streets, buildings, driveways and where the vehicles were and what happened.
• Obtain the names and contact information from witnesses including addresses
